Armored Volkswagen Transporter Reinforces Rescuers in Eastern Ukraine!

Rescuers from the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response "Donetsk-Luhansk" of Ukraine's State Emergency Service have received another armored vehicle from the Ukrainian FireFighters Foundation. This transport was purchased thanks to financial support from American donors who, for the second year in a row, have supported this vital initiative of our foundation.

Why is armored equipment a matter of life and death?

Ukrainian rescuers are the only ones in the world forced to use armored vehicles for rescue operations. When people remain trapped under rubble after Russian shelling, rescuers must go there immediately — even knowing that a repeat strike may come. Armor doesn't make them invulnerable, but it gives them a chance to save lives and return home.

Each such vehicle means dozens, hundreds of rescued Ukrainian civilians who found themselves trapped by war. It's the ability to evacuate people from frontline cities and towns that are under fire every day.
