A Fire Truck for Those Who Run Toward Danger 🚒

Ukrainian FireFighters Foundation has handed over a fire truck to the 8th Militarized Mine Rescue Unit.

This is a unique rescue unit composed of highly specialized professionals trained and certified to conduct emergency rescue operations underground. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, they have been actively involved in responding to the aftermath of russian attacks, clearing debris, and rescuing civilians.

Throughout the war, these rescuers have repeatedly lost vehicles, equipment, and rescue assets due to enemy attacks. Yet each time they have rebuilt their capabilities and returned to service. True phoenixes of Ukraine’s rescue service.

This fire truck became possible thanks to David Peterson of Wisconsin, whose sincere commitment to supporting Ukrainian rescuers became the driving force behind this project.

The Ukrainian Firefighters Foundation coordinated the project, managed logistics, and provided expert guidance to ensure that this vehicle was assigned to the unit where it could make the greatest impact.
We would also like to thank Henrik Lars Johan, Carl Anders, and Carl Martin for their assistance with logistics and for helping equip the truck with additional gear.

This project is dedicated to the memory of Jim “Whitey” Lemsky of Marinette, Wisconsin. May this act of service continue his legacy by helping save lives.

Together, we support those who risk their lives to save others.
